Hi, I’m Mareike

I'm a fully registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (MA, ADMP UK) and certified Focusing Practitioner (BFA), with over ten years' experience across schools, mental health organisations and charities. Originally from Germany, I've been living and practising in Bristol since 2016.

I offer a warm, attuned presence and a gentle, embodied space to explore your emotional world, deepen self-understanding, and reconnect with yourself through body-based awareness, movement and creative processes.

DANCE MOVEMENT PSYCHOTHERAPY (MA, ADMP UK) · FOCUSING PRACTITIONER (BFA) · CHILDREN’S FOCUSING COMPANION · RADICAL ALLOWING PRACTITIONER · BSC PSYCHOLOGY

I support people to come closer to themselves, through movement, Focusing and creative expression.

Two ways of working together

Two distinct pathways. Each honours the wisdom of the body, but they offer different kinds of support.

DANCE MOVEMENT PSYCHOTHERAPY

Ongoing psychotherapy, through the body

A therapeutic process that works through movement, creativity and the therapeutic relationship. Together we use movement, body awareness, play and creative expression to explore emotions, patterns and deeper psychological themes. Focusing may naturally be part of this work, but the frame is always psychotherapy.

CHOOSE THIS IF YOU’RE SEEKING

  • Emotional support and a therapeutic relationship

  • Space to explore deeper patterns, trauma or psychological themes

  • A creative, embodied alternative to talking alone

FOCUSING SESSIONS

A guided inner-listening practice

A gentle inner-listening practice in its own right, rather than psychotherapy. Here I'm not your therapist but your Focusing companion, supporting your own relationship with your experience. Suitable whether you're new to Focusing or already familiar with the practice.

CHOOSE THIS IF YOU’D LIKE TO

  • Deepen your connection to your own inner knowing

  • Grow a quality of self-acceptance and self-compassion

  • Explore your experience in a grounded, embodied way, without entering psychotherapy

Which option is right for you?

Dance Movement Psychotherapy

Choose this if you'd like a therapeutic relationship, and a space to explore deeper emotional or psychological themes over time.

Focusing Sessions

Choose this if you'd like to learn or practise an inner-listening approach, with me as a companion and guide rather than a psychotherapist.

Still not sure?
